Sensus Obscura was a collaboration with artists Carly Hagen and Sussanah Feiler for the Intel VR summit: New Social Entanglements.
Sensus Obscura addresses the mixing of the senses as a result of experiencing virtual reality. This project was created as a bridge between physical space and virtual space and how mixing the two senses while being simultaneously stimulated can further immerse a participant. Participants were placed on a thin balance beam in physical space while also on the same beam in virtual space, the program was then coded to simulate vertigo; in that after a few moments of looking in a particular direction the environment would soon stretch slowly away from the viewer.
Environment created with a mix of free assets and custom made models in Blender, run in Unity.
